Hey guys.
This is basically just an ecstatic yelling at the world that me and jen (gothiclilly on piczo, check her out, she's awesome) have been together for a year as of today. YAAAAAAAYYYY!!!! So thats very exciting. And a little bit scary. But mostly very exciting!
Apart from that, its 4am and I'm listening to Mista' Cool by the brothers johnson. MMMMMM, Funky. I'm very tired coz I did a 4 hour gig last night from 8-12, which was awesome, and well paid, with free drinks from the bar (and I even managed to score a free pack of beef jerky) but as a result am struggling to think of something decent to blog about....
I know, I'm going to tell you guys a little about my favourite philosopher: Epicurus.
Epicurus was the guy who philosophised from a hammock. For Epicurus, the purpose of philosophy was to attain the happy, tranquil life, characterized by ataraxia, peace and freedom from fear, and aponia, the absence of pain, and by living a self-sufficient life surrounded by friends. He taught that pleasure and pain are the measures of what is good and evil, that death is the end of the body and the soul and should therefore not be feared, that the gods do not reward or punish humans, that the universe is infinite and eternal, and that events in the world are ultimately based on the motions and interactions of atoms moving in empty space.
That was basically ripped straight from wikipedia because I couldn't remember everything exactly. But I will add to it by saying that Epicurus didn't discriminate, he was friends with every kind of man, including slaves, which was very unusual at the time (ancient greece, in case you were wondering). I really admire, what he stood for, and his teachings, and the way he taught (like, from a hammock man). He didn't discriminate, and he had a simple, stress free attitude towards existense.
Alrighty, so this weeks question is: who is your favourite philosopher and why? If you don't have a favourite, go and investigate, you may surprise yourself...

i dont have a philosopher, im my own philosopher, my thing is "simple is easy and easy is smart. s.e.e.s. it means in stead of going round the bush i just grab a machete and go through. aka, i do things the easy way.
